Year: 1946
2425 Miles Since Restoration
Color: Green
Engine: 302 V8
1946 was the first-year post-war consumer production pickup truck from Ford with the infamous waterfall grill. There are only several thousand miles on this one since restored and it’s a 100% rust-free classic. The power plant is a Ford 302 V8 that was rebuilt out of a 1972 Ford Torino according to the block numbers. I removed the original intake and 2-barrel carb (included if desired) and just replaced with an aluminum Edelbrock intake and 4-barrel 600cfm carburetor with automatic choke. The valley, lifters and push rods were incredibly clean and refilled with fresh oil and zinc additive along with coolant flush and new thermostat. There is also a 3-core aluminum radiator with fan shroud and all new hoses (including heater) and belts. The transmission is a 3-spd top loader out of a 1972 Mustang along with the 9” rearend. It has power tilt steering and power brakes with front discs and drums in the rear. She fires right up and runs out strong.
The paint was very well done professionally inside and out with bed removed and is a beautiful green metallic. You’ll find walnut wood inlayed in the bed, running boards as well as within the interior. All of the SW gauges are fully functional, speedometer is only a few mph off, fuel gauge works and the oil pressure sits around 60psi. Lights and turn-signals (self-cancelling) are working as is the heating system and cowl vent. The brightwork is near perfect all the way around including the grill and front emblem. You’ll also notice there is a custom-made stainless-steel gas tank under the rear of the bed so it will never rust. Front and rear bumpers are also custom and in perfect condition.
I removed the headliner which matches the seat and can be re-installed or included with the truck.
