Year: 1965
50000 Original Miles
Color: Starlight Black
Engine: 389 V8 Tri-Power
This is a true 1965 GTO Tri-Power 4-speed convertible in the best black and white color combination. She was ordered from the factory in Starlight black, as it is now with white interior and top, 4spd transmission and with the epic tri-power under the hood. We have all the PHS documentation that goes along with this iconic muscle car. The current owner actually inherited from his friend when he passed away a few years ago. He had gone through an extensive restoration process prior to the current owner taking possession. The body, suspension, paint and interior are all in excellent condition.
She has power steering with an upgraded Borgeson steering gear box, power brakes with upgraded discs in the front, new booster and master cylinder with proportioning valve. The original rally cluster with tachometer still resides in the dash and we do have the original steering wheel and horn button that goes along with. The original stereo is in the dash and inside the glove box you’ll notice an updated system with 6 speakers tucked throughout and nicely packaged amps and cd changer mounted and carpeted within the trunk. The power top functions perfectly as does all the other options on this beauty.
The motor shows a YC code which would be out of a 1966 model year. The transmission was ordered as a M20 four speed and currently has a Muncie M21 4-speed close ratio transmission in it. This was an option for the model year but the PHS documentation shows it originally came with a M20 so uncertain on this. However, everything is clearly rebuilt and in excellent condition. You can see by the undercarriage video there is zero rust in this one and an the entire floor pan was epoxy and looking like Eastwood’s chassis gloss black coated. The rear suspension is all upgraded with PMT fabrication rear trailing arms, sway bar and 4-links. She really takes off when all 6-barrels open it and just purrs with the Flowmaster dual exhaust and H pipe. The entire front end is new and tight as is the Borgeson power steering gear box.
You’d be challenged to find a better GTO to purchase or add to your collection at this price.
