Take a look at this ’71 GTO in Lucerne blue with a complete body-off restoration from 10/16 to 6/21. The undercarriage looks just like the exterior. It was painstakingly sanded down to bare metal above, below and the frame with pictures of the process included. Only 4 total owners now and 99,016 original miles. Includes two partial build sheets, original carpet tag, PHS documentation and all receipts from the build with only a few thousand miles since.
She was purchased new at Gay Pontiac in Dickinson, TX. The son of the dealership owner was a NHRA drag racer so the Hurst His/Hers shifter was believed to be installed at the dealership. According to PHS It also includes the rarely seen “Formula” steering wheel option. The 2nd owner purchased it in 1981 and held for approximately 35yrs. The 3rd owner, who I purchased her from a few years ago, bought the vehicle in 2016 and underwent a complete restoration rebuilding the numbers matching engine (only .20 over), carburetor, transmission and rear differential (3.23). POR-15 as well as Eastwood Encapsulator applied to frame, internal frame areas, enclosed areas of cabin ceiling bracing, inside doors and interior rear quarter areas and trunk floor. All color coded correct with the undercarriage paint nearly matching the exterior.
All new interior, glass, seals, Ames Performance Engineering components, new body mounts, wiring harness, Flowmaster dual exhaust, suspension, hush mat inside, etc. This one was completely dissembled and reassembled as close to original as possible with some enhancements. It does have power disc brakes and steering as well as the original steering box, AC system and a ton of documentation to go with her. It drives like new, fires up first or second pump and sounds like it should.
Walkaround, cold start and driving videos included and undercarriage video to follow shortly. Let me know if you have any questions or would like to see additional areas.
