This is a highly original and very clean ’49 Willy’s Jeep 4X4 Overland pickup. I had restored a ’49 2WD into a restomod with a full ’69 Mustang running gear a few years ago. Then purchased this vehicle because of the incredibly clean and original condition it was in with plans on another restoration with a 4X4. Plans have changed so now she’s an opportunity for someone to either enjoy driving as is or use as a candidate for a full restoration. It’s the farmer paint job with John Deere green paint which has fortunately sealed it up and kept her virtually rust free. The underside has zero rust and I believe the truck was originally Potomac Gray which is the color I was going to return to. The Go-Devil flathead starts right up with a new electronic ignition distributor and runs great. There is an electric fuel pump with the original manual pump still connected. The 3 on the tree transmission and clutch shifts very well and 4X4 transfer case is fully functional. Newer exhaust so she sounds good.
It has been converted to 12v with all new wiring front to back. All of the lights and turn signals are fully functioning. There is an aftermarket gauge for temperature as well as oil pressure. The original gauges are still in place and just need a 12v – 6v converter to function again. The original steering wheel is there but would need to be restored for it to be back to its glory. The split bench seat is perfect as is the ABS plastic black headliner as you can see by the pictures. All the windows (wings included) open and close nicely as do the doors and locks.
I’ve gone through and changed all the fluids (front/rear differential, transfer case, transmission) with the correct GL rated lube in addition to radiator flush and oil/filter including draining the reservoir.
The original 1950 Washington license plates are included.
A walk around video and image collection are included but additional imagining and/or information can be provided as needed.
